When you say ‘calling’, everyone immediately thinks of a full-time ministry. We keep aside the significant verse stated in Matthew 28:19,20 [ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you] believing that this commission is only for disciples forgetting the fact that it is a call for all believers.

When 12 disciples were called by Jesus personally, they indeed left everything behind and followed Him completely. Likewise, people who are in full-time ministry invest their heart, soul, energy, time, family for the kingdom’s sake. They faithfully strive to their fullest extensive calling.

On the other hand, at one time the delivered demon-possessed man wilfully urged Jesus to allow him to follow. But what was His reply? He told him to go to his house, his hometown to testify what the Lord had done by His mercies. As a result, the whole area came to know that Jesus delivers! Yes! He wants His children to do ministry where ever He has placed them. We shall bring people through our deeds, prayers, energy, help, and by using our money & talents.

Every child of God is obligated to serve God in the church and out in the world in some way or the other!

If God lifts you as a doctor, you can still influence many patients by introducing Jesus as the healer you are attending to. As a teacher, you can sow seeds of God in young hearts. Who knows God may flourish after many long years.

St. Francis of Assisi once said, “Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.”

In the first letter of Paul to Corinthians 3:2 says that ‘Your lives are a letter….everyone can read it’.

Being a student, you can show the wicked world that you are an exceptional youth who can live a pure life by God’s grace. As a homemaker and a social worker, we can tell about Christ by first lending our hand to needy. An extrovert jovial worker, who loves to be always with the people can yet live an exemplary life by not touching the defiled table of feasts. Our integrity and decisions will say who we are and what we believe.

Lord help us to be a walking Bible where people can read and know about you!

Don’t get upset when God puts you in the dark place. Since you are the light of the world, he wants to lit the light through you in that place. The candle is of no use where there is already light.

Imagine, How great it would be if the advisor of our prominent leaders would be a born again Christian. Like Nebuchadnezzar came to know the true God through Daniel, our leaders would come to know the true God through him/her.

How would it be if the most significant sports person acknowledge Jesus over his/her victory before millions, proclaiming the good news and giving all his credit to Jesus alone on the podium? Won’t that be a great influence to many!

Let’s take one small step at a time to the Kingdom’s benefit henceforth. It will be priceless even if one soul gets closer to God through you. And think that person acknowledges you before God in heaven with multitudes of angels pointing ‘You are the reason behind’.

How great is our joy in serving God!
