‘Free yourself from the chains on your neck’– Isaiah 52:2
Deliverance is ours!! Deliverance is our hands!
1.CONFESSING BRINGS HEALING
“Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”-James 5:15
HEALING brought by forgiveness is not only physical, but it also brings deliverance to our soul (mind and emotion) as well. It has the power to mend the relationships and to cancel most of the ailments (will discuss in a later blog). One of the doctors says, it fetches,
- Improved mental health
- Less anxiety, stress, and hostility
- Lower blood pressure
- Fewer symptoms of depression
- A stronger immune system
- Improved heart health
- Improved self-esteem
2.OUR SPIRIT IS FREE:
The reason we forgive and seek peace doesn’t mean that
- what other person did was correct, or
- we are compromising with their sins or
- we are accepting their ways -rather we are following Jesus’ footsteps and we want to be free anyway. Because unforgiveness imprisons us and steals your joy.
3.SETS OTHERS FREE:
If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.– John 20:23
How privileged we are to have such authority given by our Lord himself!!
World-renowned Evangelist Mrs. Joyce Meyer was sexually abused by her father several times till she was 18 yrs of age. After several decades, at one point in time, God told to take care of both the parents in their old age by providing every need they required (house, nurse, etc). With much reluctant, she obeyed the voice of God. As a result, her father asked forgiveness in his very old age. Her act of forgiveness set him free and brought him salvation. She gave him baptism at the age of around 80 and now she is immensely glad to acknowledge boldly that her father is in heaven.
